Video · Subtitles · Rotation
Videos are gathered in the gallery along with your photos. Double-click one and it plays right away in the player inside the full view, with seeking, volume, playback speed and full screen. If there's a subtitle file with the same name (.smi, .srt and so on) in the same folder as the video, it's shown automatically, and videos lying on their side can be rotated in 90° steps and the rotation written to the file.
When to use it
- When you want to see videos mixed in with photos from your phone or camera, in date order.
- When you want to gather only videos (type Videos) and skim their durations and sizes.
- When you watch a movie or lecture video with subtitles (choosing Korean · English subtitles).
- When you want to fix a video shot upright that appears lying on its side.
- When you want to fast-forward a long video (1.5× · 2×) or skip 10 seconds at a time.

Good to know
While you watch a video in the full view, photo indexing pauses for a while ("Paused briefly (video playing)" in the status bar). This keeps videos on external drives from stuttering. Indexing continues when you close the full view.
When you flip quickly through the filmstrip, playback starts when you stay on a video for a moment.
A 90° rotation of a photo is an edit that doesn't change the original, but videos are different. Clicking Apply writes the rotation to the video file itself (a file operation you choose yourself: for mp4 · mov and so on, the file's rotation information is changed; wmv is re-encoded). Especially with wmv, quality may change slightly, so if you want to keep the original, make a copy first.
For video edits (trimming, joining and so on), open an external video editor with External editor.
For videos, F is the full screen key (for photos, it's the focus point).
Pressing Esc in full screen only exits full screen. Press it once more to close the full view as well.
Subtitles are read from files with the same name as the video. If the name differs, as in trip_subs.srt, rename it to videoname.srt or videoname.language.srt.
